Linux Mint Debian Edition (LMDE) is a semi-rolling distribution based on Debian Testing. The purpose of LMDE is to look identical to the main edition and to provide the same functionality while using Debian as a base.

Linux Mint is an Ubuntu-based distribution whose goal is to provide a classic desktop experience with many convenient, custom tools and optional out-of-the-box multimedia support. It also adds a custom desktop and menus, several unique configuration tools, and a web-based package installation interface.
The latest release is Linux Mint 20 "Ulyana", released on 27 June 2020. As an LTS release, it will be supported until 2025. Linux Mint Debian Edition, not compatible with Ubuntu, is based on Debian and updates are brought in continuously between major versions (of LMDE).
-mint itself -debian -linux mint debian edition. all those distros are supported pretty well so no concerns about that. i know that debian and lmde are the most stable ones out there but if i can catch stability with fairly new software and less updates, i can go for mint as well. and my choice of DE is cinnamon.
